Monogram’s Mi-24D ‘Hind-D’ is a good kit, to which I added the very nice Cobra Company resin detail set. The includes a completely new cockpit as well as some bulged wheels. The Hind built up nicely and I rescribed a few of the raised panel lines. The resin parts fitted flawlessly, although I didn’t spend enough time making sure the main wheels were aligned correctly. As with the Sea Harrier I was careless with the details, which detracts from the finished article, such as the canopy join and the application of the Humbrol Matt Cote. The paint is Humbrol enamel, matched by eye using the tin lids as my guide. This was a mistake as the colours are far too strong. The kit decals were used and they are adequate, although slightly off-register.
