Hasegawa 1/48 LTV A-7D

74th TFS, 23rd TFW, US Air Force, USA

This is Hasegawa’s LTV A-7D, which is a beautiful kit. I added bits of an Eduard photo-etch set to the cockpit; the rest of the set went to the A-7E Corsair II. The kit went together ok, but does require some skill (more than I possessed at the time!). The wing to fuselage joint in particular is not very good. I made the mistake of cutting the kit parts to pose the underbelly airbrake open, but then realised this was not possible with the aircraft on the ground. The ordnance comes from the Hasegawa weapons sets and the decals are one of the kit options. I kind of wish I’d done it in the four-tone SEA scheme, but it looks ok. The finish is Gunze Sangyo acrylics with a Klear coat and oil wash.
